Maryland
We made it back Monday from Solomons Island, Maryland. The Menkes Foundation provided travel arrangements for Memorial day weekend for Sarah, Carson and I. We were able to tell the folks at the Menkes Foundation Gala our story of Carson. We had a great time meeting new friends Tina and Lance, Drew, Jamie and their families. Carson was great on the plane. He did have an ulcer in his mouth that was causing a few problems over the weekend eating but he slept durning the flight both times. He is still having 4-5 seizures a day and we are scheduled to receive a suction machine soon to help his breathing out. June 14Th is coming up soon! Carson cant wait to see everyone back in Carroll, Iowa.

I am so glad you had a great trip to Maryland and enjoyed a little vacation time. Marcos and I were thinking about you guys as we drove the bottom half of the country and you flew over the top half...we were all just all over the place this past weekend. It was great to see you all yesterday...missed you guys! Hope you have a wonderful day...the upcoming fundraiser will be tons of fun!

I'm so glad to hear that your trip went well. I was thinking of you guys often. Isn't it amazing to talk to other families who know EXACTLY what you are dealing with by Carson having Menkes. We feel it's priceless! It brings a great deal of comfort, as well as knowledge. We are looking forward to the Barth Syndrome Conference in FL in July. There were nearly 40 Barth boys there at the last conference two years ago. That's pretty good considering there's only about 120 worldwide. I'm so thankful Bly can make it this time.
As always, each of you are in our thoughts and prayers! I pray the meds will get adjusted to the right kind and dosage to help with Carson's seizures. What a little trooper you have!! I remember going through trial and errors like that with Bly for his heart and immune system meds.
Take care of yourselves! I'm looking forward to the 14th!

We're so happy to hear you had a good time at the gala! We were thinking of you, and are happy Carson did well on the plane. What was the gala like? What kind of suction machine did you end up getting?
Also-- I saw that Carson is eating avacados. Are you just mashing them, or do you mix them with something to make them looser? We haven't given Jack avacados, but they're very plentiful in AZ.
Glad to hear you're doing well. I still love visiting your website, and your pictures of Carson are really great.
