Maryland

We made it back Monday from Solomons Island, Maryland. The Menkes Foundation provided travel arrangements for Memorial day weekend for Sarah, Carson and I. We were able to tell the folks at the Menkes Foundation Gala our story of Carson. We had a great time meeting new friends Tina and Lance, Drew, Jamie and their families. Carson was great on the plane. He did have an ulcer in his mouth that was causing a few problems over the weekend eating but he slept durning the flight both times. He is still having 4-5 seizures a day and we are scheduled to receive a suction machine soon to help his breathing out. June 14Th is coming up soon! Carson cant wait to see everyone back in Carroll, Iowa.

Update

Carson is doing a little better these days. The meds must be working a little bit because his seizures are not as bad lately. We had visitors this week! Father Frank from Prince of Peace stopped by to bless Carson and the home on Monday. His Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother from Arkansas stopped in Tuesday. Grandpa and Nana Latshaw were also here Tuesday night. Carson helped his Dad smoke some brisket and ribs for dinner.

Grandpa and Grandma Bowman are on their way down tonight. We fly out to Maryland with Carson to speak at the Menkes Foundation Gala. We hope we can raise a bunch of money for Research and awareness for Menkes Saturday night. Jamie and Drew Eckman run the Menkes Foundation. http://www.themenkesfoundation.org/ We will be hopefully working with them in several awareness programs to spread the word and get more folks involved with Menkes in the future. I am sure we all will learn a lot from both of them while we are visiting. Hopefully Carson will like flying. Sarah, Carson, Grandpa, Grandma Bowman and I will be flying out Friday afternoon and we will meet Kari at the airport BWI. We will make sure we get some pics up of are trip east.

Happy Mother's Day

Hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! Carson gave everyone a nice treat (especially his Mommy) of being very vocal on Sunday. He was just too cute making all kinds of noises and being quite dramatic about it sometimes. Carson just wanted to be a part of everyone's conversations and let his opinion be known! He is still having a few seizures throughout the day...keep up the prayers for the medicines to work well together and for the seizures to go away.

Update

I hate to give you bad news about Carson. He has had seizures for 2-4 weeks straight. They seem to be getting worse. We are working with the neurologist clinic to attempt to control the seizures. We have increased the meds. A few days ago we added another and today we have increased that new med also. Just a quick note so you can keep Carson in your thoughts and prayers. Hope to give good news in a few days about finally controlling these seizures.

Busy weekend

Carson had a busy weekend...Sarah and Carson stayed at Nana and Papa's over the weekend while the hardwood floors were refinished at their house. Jeff held down the fort and worked hard on the backyard landscape too. Nana and Papa enjoyed having Carson around and spending extra time with him. Carson went with all "his girls" on Sunday for a fun filled shopping trip (Aunt Jen, Cousin Julianna, Aunt Becky and of course his Mom)!!! Lots of fun!

Carson is still loving his evening meal of avocados and rice....yummy!!!! It is his favorite! He started a new medicine this past week to try and help with the break through seizures. Keep saying prayers for the seizures to go away and the combination of medicines to work well together.
